Calendar events missing, duplicated or on the wrong day

Work through the list from the top; the first items cover most cases.

An event is missing

  1. Is it in the Live Preview? In Step 6, pick the day in the Live Preview. If the event isn't listed there, look at the next three points; if it is, skip to point 5. (The Live Preview covers this week and next; for a later date, start at point 2.)

  2. Is its calendar checked? Each connection lists its calendars with a check mark. After a new connection (or a Disconnect and reconnect), all calendars start selected: uncheck the ones you don't want and make sure the ones you need are on. See Connecting Google Calendar.

  3. Does the title contain a hidden word? Hide events containing is a "contains" match: "Block" also hides "Blocked for travel". See Calendar colors and hiding events.

  4. Is the connection still active? A connection that needs attention is highlighted in Step 6, and Dayfolio emails you. Press Reconnect — see Reconnecting a calendar that stopped updating.

  5. Is it within your Day View hours? Events before the start hour or after the end hour aren't drawn on the Day View schedule. Widen the range in Step 4 — Day, Week & Month View settings — and sync.

  6. Is it a timed event you're looking for on the Month View? Timed events are a dot there unless Show timed events is on. See How calendar events appear in each view.

  7. Has the planner on the tablet been updated? Compare the time in the footer with your last sync. If it's older: close the planner, go back to My files, make sure the tablet is on Wi-Fi, wait for the sync icon to finish and reopen it (Settings → Cloud → Check sync forces it). See My planner didn't update — checklist.

  8. Is the event in the source? For a calendar mirrored through another service (a work calendar subscribed inside Google Calendar, for example), check whether the event is visible in that intermediate calendar on the web. If it isn't there, it can't reach Dayfolio; connect the calendar directly instead — see Combining calendars from several accounts.

  9. iCal feed not refreshed yet? Feeds are fetched at each sync, and some services cache their published feed for a while. Press Sync now and check again a little later.

An event appears twice

The same calendar is reaching Dayfolio from two sources — typically a work calendar that is both subscribed inside Google Calendar and added as an iCal feed, or one event that lives in two of your selected Google calendars. In Step 6, keep the calendar from one source only, then press Sync now. See Combining calendars from several accounts.

Events on the wrong day or at the wrong time

  • Time zone — Step 3 sets the time zone the planner is printed in. It should be the time zone you live in (the tablet's clock doesn't move events). If you travel for a longer period, change it and sync. See Language, time format and time zone.

  • 12h / 24h format changed but not applied — the format is applied at regeneration; press Sync now.

  • Planner not yet downloaded — see point 7 above: the reMarkable may still be showing the previous version.

Tapping an event doesn't open its page

Only events with a Meeting Notes page can be tapped: they start with a camera icon. If an event has the icon but the link doesn't open the right page, see A meeting has no notes page, or tapping it does nothing — it explains what to check and when to run Repair planner index.

Still stuck?

Write to hello@dayfolio.io with the planner name, the event's title and date, and a screenshot of Step 6 (the list of calendars) — that's usually enough to find the cause.
