Changing your planner settings after setup

Everything you chose during the 10-step setup can be revisited later. Nothing is locked behind the wizard except two choices made at creation time.

Where the settings live

Open app.dayfolio.io and pick your planner. The planner page has four entry points:

  • Edit settings — the setup steps again: name and appearance, handedness, region and time, Day/Week/Month View options (including task lines), weather, meeting notes.

  • Change calendar — the calendar connections and per-calendar options (which calendars to include, colors, keyword filters).

  • Task settings — task app connections, email notifications, Move unfinished tasks to today.

  • Sync options — daily sync time, Smart Sync+, and the reMarkable connection.

You can jump straight to any step from the step list; you don't have to walk through them in order.

Changes save automatically

Each change is stored as soon as you make it — Save & close simply takes you back to your planner page: the left sidebar on desktop (the header on mobile) reads Changes save automatically and, after a change, All changes saved with the time. What isn't automatic is the delivery to your tablet:

  1. After changing anything, press Sync now (the banner "You've made changes — sync now to update your reMarkable" reminds you).

  2. Dayfolio regenerates the planner with the new settings. A full regeneration takes a few minutes; you can close the tab.

  3. On the reMarkable, close the planner if it's open, wait for the sync icon, and reopen it.

If you don't press Sync now, the change is applied at the next automatic daily sync anyway.

What a settings change does to your handwriting

Nothing. Regeneration rebuilds the printed content (events, tasks, labels, colors) around your handwriting. Notes stay on the pages where you wrote them, and pages you added from the reMarkable stay in place. See Reached a blank "Reserved page"? Two things that are fixed

  • Year — a planner covers one calendar year. We'll send instructions for next year's planner in December.

  • Device format — Full-size reMarkable or Paper Pro Move. To use the other format, generate a Move (or full-size) version from the planner page: Use this on Move too → Switch to Move replaces the format — the tablet receives a new planner file, and your notes stay in the previous file, which stops updating — or Keep both planners adds a second planner (Additional Planner license).
