Combining calendars from several accounts

Most people have more than one calendar — work and personal, a partner's, the kids' school. Step 6 is built for that: connect every source, then choose exactly which calendars go into the planner.

Everything on one planner

A planner can have, at the same time:

  • one Google account (with any number of its calendars checked),

  • one Microsoft account (same),

  • any number of iCal / .ics feeds.

Each source is its own card in Step 6, with its own list of calendars, colors and check marks. All selected calendars are merged into the same Day, Week, Month and Year Views, and the Hide events containing words apply to all of them.

A second Google or Microsoft account (personal and work)

One Google sign-in and one Microsoft sign-in are connected per planner. For the calendars of a second account of the same kind, use their iCal links:

  • Google — Secret address in iCal format in the calendar's settings on the web.

  • Microsoft — Publish a calendar in Outlook on the web.

See Adding a calendar with an iCal/ICS link.

The same calendar from one source only

If a calendar reaches you in two ways — for example your work calendar is subscribed inside your Google Calendar and you also added its Outlook link as a feed — add it to Dayfolio once, from the source closest to the original. Otherwise its events are printed twice. When a work calendar is mirrored into Google Calendar, connecting Dayfolio directly to the work calendar (Microsoft sign-in or its published link) is the most faithful, since cancellations and changes reach Dayfolio without waiting for the mirror.

Two people, one calendar

Two ways to share a calendar across two reMarkable devices:

  • Same reMarkable account on both devices — they share the same planner file: the same events and the same handwriting on both tablets. Good for a fully shared planner.

  • Two reMarkable accounts — each person needs their own Dayfolio subscription, with a planner delivered to their own reMarkable account; connect both planners to the same shared calendar (a shared Google calendar, or the same iCal link). Both see the same events; each keeps their own handwriting. An executive and an assistant typically use this setup.

Connections belong to the planner

Calendar connections, selections, colors and filters are stored per planner. If you keep both a full-size and a Move planner, set up Step 6 on each.
