Recurring meetings and the Series

A weekly 1:1, a daily standup, a monthly review: Dayfolio recognizes the occurrences of a recurring meeting and links them, so you can read your notes on it as one continuous thread.

What you get

  • ‹ previous / next › links at the top of every occurrence's notes page, to step through the series.

  • A Series page per recurring meeting — reached from the SERIES button — listing all occurrences in three columns (Past, This week, Upcoming) with the attendees' RSVP summary and a pencil badge where you've already written. Tap any row to open that occurrence.

Both are described with images in Meetings Index and Series pages.

How occurrences are recognized

Dayfolio uses the recurrence information from your calendar — the series that Google Calendar or Outlook created when the meeting was set to repeat — not the event title. No tagging on your side; a meeting that repeats in your calendar is a series in the planner.

When a provider changes the series identifier — some do when the whole series is rescheduled — Dayfolio also matches occurrences by title and calendar source, so the thread continues.

Follow-ups sent as new invites

A meeting that someone schedules as a brand-new invite ("Project X — follow-up") rather than as part of the existing series is a separate event for your calendar, and therefore a separate page in the planner, even if it has the same title. To keep notes from related but separate meetings together:

  • use reMarkable tags on the notes pages (a tag per project or client), then browse by tag on the tablet;

  • or copy the notes that matter into a reMarkable notebook per project.

Recurring meetings from iCal feeds

The Google and Microsoft connections always deliver the recurrence information. iCal/ICS feeds vary: when the feed includes it, occurrences are grouped as above; when it doesn't, each occurrence still gets its page on the right date, just without the series links. See Adding a calendar with an iCal/ICS link.
