A meeting has no notes page, or tapping it does nothing

Only events that have a Meeting Notes page can be tapped. On the Day and Week Views you can tell them apart: they start with a small camera icon and have a darker bar on the left edge of the block. An event without them is printed on the page but has no notes page to open, so tapping it does nothing.

The event has no camera icon

The event has no Meeting Notes page. Go through these in order:

  1. Is it inside the window? Pages exist for the current week plus one or four weeks, counted in calendar weeks. A meeting further out gets its page when it enters the window — see How far ahead pages are created (2 or 4 weeks).

  2. Does it qualify under Smart detection? Smart detection needs two or more participants or a Meet/Zoom/Teams link. Events from iCal feeds, booking tools and self-made appointments often have neither — if most of your meetings come from an iCal feed and none of them can be tapped, this is almost always the reason. Check the event in the Live Preview of Step 7; if it's not listed, switch to Create pages for all timed events — see Smart detection or all timed events?.

  3. Is it an all-day event? All-day events never get a notes page. Give the meeting a start and end time in your calendar.

  4. Is it hidden by a keyword? Events matching Hide events containing (Step 6) are left out of the planner entirely, notes page included. See Calendar colors and hiding events.

  5. Has the planner synced since? Pages are created during a sync, not when you tap. Press Sync now, then on the reMarkable close the planner, wait for the sync icon to finish and reopen it. The footer shows the time of the last generation.

Tap with your finger, not the pen — the pen writes, the finger follows links. Then:

The tablet didn't respond to the tap

Every link opens with a single tap. Occasionally, though, the reMarkable doesn't register a tap on a link the first time — mostly on the reMarkable 2 and other older models, and in PDFs with many links, like your planner. It isn't the link: the same link opens on the first click on a computer or another device. Tap again and give the tablet a moment.

It opens the wrong page, or nothing, every time

This can happen to one link, a few or all of them — meetings, header icons or day numbers. Usually the reMarkable's page index for the file no longer knows the page the link points to. To check:

  1. On the reMarkable, long-press the planner in My files → Duplicate → Original document (not With edits). The copy is the planner exactly as Dayfolio sent it, without the tablet's page index.

  2. Tap the same link in the copy.

  3. If it works there, the page index is the problem: run Repair planner index on your planner page at app.dayfolio.io — see Repair planner index.

  4. If it doesn't work in the copy either, write to hello@dayfolio.io with the link you tapped (the meeting's date and title, or the page and icon) and your reMarkable model.

Delete the test copy afterwards.

Pages exist for meetings you declined

Dayfolio creates pages for every qualifying invitation, whatever your RSVP, so a meeting you declined still has a page (its event is struck through in the calendar views). If you don't need it, just leave it: deleting pages on the tablet can put the planner's page index out of step — see Repair planner index.
